What happened

SpaceX announced Q3 2026 revenues of $14.6 billion, a 161 percent increase year-over-year. The company's Super Intelligence (SI) division posted $7.6 billion in revenue, up 830 percent from the prior year, driven by new cloud services agreements, the acquisition of AI coding tool Cursor, and increased adoption of Grok. Connectivity revenues reached $5.2 billion with 13.6 million Starlink consumer subscribers, while the Space division reported $1.8 billion in revenue, up 6 percent year-over-year. The SI segment posted $431 million in operating income, Connectivity generated $2.4 billion in operating income, and the Space division posted a $7 million operating loss.

Context

This is SpaceX's second earnings report following its June IPO. The company has diversified significantly beyond its core Space business into artificial intelligence and satellite internet. The Q3 results show that SI has become the dominant revenue driver, with growth rates far exceeding the Space division's modest 6 percent increase. The Cursor acquisition and Grok enterprise adoption indicate SpaceX is establishing itself as a competitive force in AI infrastructure alongside its traditional launch business. Connectivity has become operationally profitable while Space remains unprofitable, suggesting a strategic shift in the company's business model composition.
